Future Experiences in Agriculture, Science and Technology (FEAST)

Explore plant and agricultural science over 4 days at our Gatton campus.

Future Experiences in Agriculture, Science, and Technology (FEAST) is designed to inspire high school students to pursue rewarding careers in the agriculture, animal, plant and food industries. Stay overnight at our Gatton campus from Sunday 29 June to Wednesday 2 July for this 4-day residential program.

During the day, you’ll explore some of the biggest challenges scientists face. In the evenings, you’ll get a taste of life in UQ Gatton's Halls of Residence, and take part in social and sporting activities.

Applications for FEAST 2025 close Friday 23 May.

What’s involved

  • Explore plant, animal and agriculture science disciplines through hands-on activities and workshops.
  • Meet UQ students and staff and other like-minded attendees.
  • Experience life in the UQ Halls of Residence for 3 nights, participate in social and sporting activities, and attend a semi-formal dinner and disco.

Who should attend

Year 10 to 12 students interested in animal, plant and agricultural science.

Cost

FEAST costs A$500 (including GST). This covers:

  • 3 nights' accommodation in the UQ Halls of Residence (linen and bedding provided)
  • buffet meals from Sunday night to Wednesday lunch
  • all program activities.

You'll need to organise your travel to and from the event.

Fee waivers and travel bursaries are available to assist students who would not otherwise be able to participate due to financial circumstances.
